Art Voice

Exclusively for young women, the programme involved two groups of young women from Salford taking part in arts workshops working towards their Arts Award Qualification. One group achieved the Bronze Arts Award (Level One) whilst the other achieved the Silver Arts Award (Level Two).

Both groups took part in arts workshops such as drama, screen printing, crochet, creative writing and visual art. They also visited Salford Museum and Art Gallery and attended a performance of Accrington Pals at The Royal Exchange Theatre.

The young women then led an arts event to celebrate International Women’s Day which was open to the public and highly attended by local young people. The event featured a performance by the young women, displayed their works of art and art works which explored the issues that impact young women.
