Mamela

As part of the Afro Vibes Festival at Contact, Young women from Salford took part in a cultural exchange with the all female South African cast of ‘Mamela’. This consisted of the cast members and the young women exchanging questions and responses to find out about one another and the difference and similarities of cultures. Both groups then came together to take part in theatre workshops where they explored issues that effect women. This was filmed and showcased at Contact Theatre as a curtain raiser before the performance of ‘Mamela’.
